Nyze Manuel
Kia ora, I'm Nyze Manuel born, raised, and based in Whangaroa and I'm standing to represent all of our communities at the Northland Regional Council. I've worked for decades across business, governance, civil defence, and environmental restoration.
As a business owner, I've created local jobs through my security and logistics company, and served as Kaiwhakahaere of Tai Tokerau Border Control, leading emergency responses during COVID-19 and Cyclone Gabrielle. I've also held governance roles as Chair of the Northland Conservation Board, Trustee of Karangahape Marae, and member of Te R?nunga o Whaingaroa.
Through my role with Te Ruarangi, I've worked alongside NRC councillors, hap? and communities to drive collaborative solutions for climate resilience, housing, flood mitigation, and fresh water quality.
I'm passionate about bringing people together M?ori and non m?ori, young and old to create real change. I believe in mokopuna decisions and local voices shaping local solutions.
