Roddy Hapati Pihema

My principal place of residence is in the Bay of Islands-Whangaroa Community Board (Kawakawa-Moerewa Subdivision) area. Kohatutaka Te Hapu, Ngapuhi Te Iwi, Ko Roddy Hapati Pihema toku ingoa. My name is Roddy Hapati Pihema, I am a husband and a father of six living with my whanau in Taumatamakuku, Moerewa. I was born at Kawakawa hospital, grew up in Moerewa went to Moerewa Primary, Bay of Islands Intermediate then Bay of Islands College. I am the Chairman of the Taumatamakuku Community Representatives Committee, a Volunteer on Te Hononga Patrol and Kaitiaki for Taumatamakuku Maara Kai. My passion is creating community led solutions from engaging with youth to the establishment of sustainable community gardens to awhi both Moerewa/Kawakawa. I have forged strong relationships with Affco, Council, Waka Kotahi, Police, Kai Ora, Ngatihine Runanga, He Iwi Kotahi Tatou Trust, Manaaki Moerewa, Te Hononga, Civil Defense, Te Puna Aroha and many Rangatira.
